Teen Driver Mode, available in new Buick models, helps encourage safe driving habits for young drivers while providing parents with a detailed look at each trip their teen takes.

What is Buick Teen Driver Mode?
The Buick brand’s Teen Driver Mode is a safety feature that lets parents monitor their child’s driving habits to help them coach their driving skills.

What Does Teen Driver Mode Do?
Steering wheel and dashboard in 2020 Buick Encore GX
Teen Driver Mode does a variety of things in a Buick vehicle. A key feature it provides is a “report card.” This will show parents the distance driven, maximum speed reached, antilock brake events, stability control events, Forward Collision Alerts, and Forward Collision Avoidance Braking events during each trip their child takes.

Additionally, Teen Driver Mode will automatically turn on active safety features in the vehicle, provide an audible and visual speed warning when the driver exceeds the set limit, muting the audio features in the vehicle until occupants in the front seats have buckled their seat belts, and the system will even limit the maximum volume of the radio.

How Do I Set Up Teen Driver Mode in a Buick?
Setting up Teen Driver Mode in your Buick vehicle is easy, and the mode will be assigned to certain key fobs. This means the system will automatically activate when your child uses their key fob in the vehicle, but it will not activate when a parent uses their own fob. Check out the video below to see how to set up Teen Driver Mode in your Buick vehicle.
